Former governor of Anambra State And The Presidential Candidate For Labour Party Peter Obi Has Reacted To The Attack Of A Catholic Church In Owo local Government Area Of Ondo State By An Unknown Gunmen Which Left Many People Dead And Others Injured.
Recall That In On Sunday 5th June 2022 Unidentified Gunmen Attacked St Francis Catholic Church Owo In Owa-Local Government Area Of Ondo State Throwing Bomb Which Killed Over 50 People And Many People Injured In What Could Be Termed A Black Sunday.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen invaded the church in their numbers threw an explosive device inside the church and started shooting sporadically killing many worshipers at the spot.
Reacting To The Unfortunate Incident,Obi Said That The Sad Incident Has Once Again Proving His Position That Nigeria Is Fast Becoming A Failed Country, And Will Be Worst If Nothing Is Done Fast To Recover The Country.
In A Post On His Official Facebook Page He Said.
“What happened in Owo today again adds to my position that our country is fast becoming a failed state. All must now join hands in saving our country from this existential situation we find ourselves in today.
“I sympathise with the victims’ families, the Catholic Diocese of Ondo, the people and the Government of Ondo State. I urge the Federal Government and Ondo State Government to do whatever is possible to ensure that perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.
