Strike: FG does not care about Nigerians education – Asuu

Nigeria Academic staff Union of Universities – Asuu, had accused the FG of retaining deaf ear of the their appeal to meet the demands concerning the current strike in Universities accrosss the country in respect for struggle to get a befiting and better education.

The Benin zonal part of Asuu coorsinatorMr Fred Esumeh on 14 April, 2022 stated that the FG is not anyway interested in the Nigerian university student. He further said, The FG is being governed by some ‘rodemts’ and parasitic elements, who has there eyes on the national mineral resources and loots them blindly while major part of the country is die in of starvation.

These leaders has chosen to meet the timeline and deadline for politicking and party activities to perpetuate the greedness but remakn insensitive to the urge that Nigerian children and scholars are groaming under a burden of being on strike for 2months now.He said.

Instead of aheading to the treats from the nationalistic call with the urgency and seriousness that they deserve to get, the Government reps seemlessly continues to play around with the future of the country’s generation.He said.



The Asuu union has urged other civil servers and workers to pursue the race on FG to meet their demands and save the Nigeria’s educational system.

Meanwhile, the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Osun State, on Friday, pleaded with the Federal Government and ASUU to return to negotiating table.

Its Chairman, Eruobami Ayobami and Publicity Secretary, Olaniyan Saleem, it said the strike, was beginning to take a negative turn on students, as they seemed not to know when the strike would come to an end.

Ayobami appealed to the FG to consider the plights of ASUU members to revisit its position and the need for both parties to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible.
